Woman sues other bicyclist after three-bike pileup

Bicycle

A bicyclist is suing another who caused a three-bike accident on a bike path downtown.

Adrienne Quint filed a complaint on July 8 in Cook County Circuit Court against Kevin Chang.

On July 16, 2013, Quint was riding a bicycle south on a bike path intersecting North Lake Shore Drive, directly behind Chang, who was driving another bike. According to the lawsuit, Chang then crossed the center line and collided with another bicyclist, causing Quint to collide with them.

Chang is cited with carelessness and negligence for failing to yield the right of way, observe the plaintiff, obey a traffic-control device, and operate while keeping the proper lookout.

As a result, Quint suffered injury, pain and suffering, disability, loss of wages and medical expenses.

The plaintiff seeks damages in excess of the court's jurisdictional limits, plus court costs and attorneys' fees.

The plaintiff is represented by James E. Ocasek of Cooney and Conway in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number illegible.
