A Cook County man is suing over claims Northern Trust Bank owes him more than $550,000 for a certificate of deposit issued by the bank.
Robert C. Hultquist filed a lawsuit July 15 in Cook County Circuit Court against the Northern Trust Co., doing business as Northern Trust Bank, citing negligence.
According to the claim, Hultquist placed a deposit with the bank in the amount of $312,420 with an interest rate of 5.30 percent for his Robert C. Hultquist P.C. Corp. on October 2, 1995, wherein the company then issued a certificate of deposit for that amount. However, the CD has not been paid, the claim states.
With a 5.30 percent interest rate, the amount owed on the CD is $550,000 and demand for payment has been made, according to the claim.
Hultquist is seeking an award of more than $550,000 for the unpaid certificate of deposit and for costs, and for interest to the date of payment, the claim states.
He is being represented in the case by the firm of Collins Bargione & Vuckovich in Chicago.
