A Cook County patron is suing a Glenwood rollerskating rink operator, alleging negligence in a slip and fall in the facility’s locker room area.

Erica Johnson filed a lawsuit July 28 in Cook County Circuit Court against Glenwood Roller Rink Inc., alleging negligence in a 2014 incident.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 24, 2014, Johnson was on the defendant’s premises, at 656 Holbrook Road, Glenwood, and as she removed her items from a locker in the locker room, the locker fell on her, causing severe injuries.

The lawsuit states Glenwood Roller Rink was guilty of negligence in maintaining its premises and that it failed to provide a safe locker room or properly secure the locker to prevent its falling on users. Johnson says the defendant failed to warn her of the locker’s dangerous condition when it knew or should have known that such a warning was necessary.

The plaintiff alleges pain, anguish and severe and permanent injuries.

Johnson seeks monetary judgment in the amount to satisfy the jurisdictional limitations of the court, plus attorney fees and costs. She is represented by attorney Douglas Hopson of The Hopson Firm in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015L007676.
