Florine Driver filed a lawsuit Aug. 19 in Cook County Circuit Court against Sears Outlet Stores Inc. in conjunction with Thomas Roy individually, as serving manager of the particular location, citing negligence.

According to the claim, Driver was legally shopping at Sears Outlet Store, located at 16040 Harlem Ave. in Tinley Park on April 22 when she slipped and fell on an unknown substance on the floor while in the women’s bathroom, causing her to sustain injuries to her left hip and back.

Driver is seeking damages of more than $50,000, plus the costs of this suit for Sears Outlet Store and Thomas Roy’s negligence to not further fully clean its bathroom to be safe for use upon where Driver sustained injury, the claim states.
