Cook County woman sues Rosemont, alleging injuries at convention center

A Cook County woman is suing the village of Rosemont, alleging injuries while working at the village's convention center.

Evelin Gutierrez, an employee of Esquire Staffing Services, filed a lawsuit Aug. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court against the village of Rosemont, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 16, 2014, Gutierrez was working at the Donald E. Convention Center in Rosemont when a large curtain rod fell and struck her, resulting in significant injuries that have caused her great pain, suffering and the inconvenience of going about her usual affairs and duties.

Gutierrez seeks more than $50,000 in damages and the jurisdictional limits of the court, plus legal fees. She is represented by attorney Geroge Brugess of the Law Offices of George Brugess in Palos Heights.
