A couple is suing Chicago Permanent Cosmetics Center and its manager-employee following a botched cosmetic procedure that allegedly caused the wife life-altering difficulties.
Wendy Willson and Tod Willson brought a lawsuit against Elena Astor and Chicago Permanent Cosmetics Center of Wilmette on Aug. 19 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging negligence in the May 2014 incident.
The suit states that Wendy was a customer at the defendants’ facility at 3612 W. Lake Avenue, Suite 1A in Wilmette on or about May 24, 2014. According to the complaint, the plaintiff desired a permanent eyeliner procedure, which involves the use of a needle to penetrate the skin and release pigment.
The lawsuit states that Astor failed to utilize the needle properly to avoid incorrect skin penetration. Additionally, the suit states, Astor was permitted to perform the procedure despite the alleged fact that she has a medical condition that may cause her to lose control of the needle while performing the permanent eyeliner procedure.
The plaintiffs contend that the defendants penetrated unintended areas of Wendy’s face, causing her to suffer severe and permanent injuries, preventing her from attending to her usual duties and affairs, and incurring medical bills.
Charging negligence, the plaintiffs request damages of more than $50,000, plus attorneys’ fees and costs. They are represented by Scott Morgan of Morgan Law Firm in Chicago.
