A Cook County man has filed a lawsuit over injuries he claims he suffered as a nursing home resident.
Kenneth L. White filed suit Sept. 1 in Cook County Circuit Court, Law Division against Manor Care of South Holland Illinois LLC, alleging neglect under the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act.
Between Aug. 30 and Sept. 6, 2013, White was a resident at Manor Care with a condition that allegedly left him immobile up to 22 of 24 hours each day. The claim states that Manor Care’s staff did not properly turn White while he was bedridden, causing him to develop bedsores. These sores were so severe, the suit claims, that he sought treatment at Kindred Hospital/St. Margaret’s in Hammond immediately upon his Sept. 6 release from Manor Care.
Attorney Daniel M. Moulton of the Law Offices of Daniel Moulton in Chicago is representing White in the lawsuit, which seeks damages of more than $50,000, litigation costs and further relief directed by the court.
