Elderly woman sues The Villa at Evergreen Park nursing facility claiming negligence lead to injuries

An 85-year-old woman is suing for injuries she developed during her stay at The Villa at Evergreen Park nursing home from allegedly neglectful care.

Eva Singleton filed suit Sept. 2 in Cook County Circuit Court, Law Division, against defendants Evergreen Living and Rehab Center LLC, doing business as The Villa at Evergreen Park; Legacy Healthcare Financial Services LLC; Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers; Lexington Health Care Center of Chicago Ridge Inc.; Royal Management Corp.; Waterfront Terrace Inc.; Dynamic Healthcare Inc., doing business as Dynamic Healthcare Consultants; Chaim Rajchenbach; Menachem Shabat; M. Hicks LPN; E. Bosek R.N.; P. Bugaling R.N.; J. Koopman R.N.; C. Roper LPN; and T. Williams LPN.

The plaintiff’s claim states that she received negligent care and treatment from the defendants on several instances in 2014 and 2015, which led to serious, permanent injuries, including disability, disfigurement, great pain and physical suffering. Her injuries include the development of pressure ulcers, urinary tract and wound infections, and a fever. The lawsuit also alleges that unnecessary medication was prescribed to subdue the plaintiff.

Attorney Eva E. Golabek of the Chicago firm Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz are representing the plaintiff, who is seeking damages of more than $50,000.
