Two patrons are suing a Cook County sports bar, alleging it over-served patrons, resulting in behavior that led to the plaintiffs’ personal injuries.

Lavell Robinson and Jerry Robinson filed a lawsuit Sept. 2 against Adrianna’s Banquets Inc. doing business as Adrianna’s Sportsbar of Markham, in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging violation of the Dram Shop Act in March.

According to the complaint, the defendant’s employees over-served alcoholic beverages to numerous unidentified patrons on March 13, at its 16300 Dixie Highway location. The suit says Adrianna’s staff, acting as security personnel, “forcefully removed” the plaintiffs from the premises and placed them in the custody of unidentified persons, who then struck him with fists and legs.

Lavell Robinson and Jerry Robinson allege personal and pecuniary injuries from the encounter. The plaintiffs charge the defendant with improper management of the premises, failing to provide adequate security, training and policies for patrons’ safety.

The Robinsons seek judgment of more than the minimum jurisdictional amount, plus attorney fees and costs. They are represented by attorney Kevin J. McNamara of Kevin J. McNamara Law Offices in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015009033.
