Midwest Gaming & Entertainment sued over claims of negligence following dance floor accident

A woman is suing a Des Plaines casino and club on allegations of negligence after slipping on spilled drinks on the dance floor and injuring herself.

Nikki O'Neill filed a complaint Aug. 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against Midwest Gaming & Entertainment LLC, doing business as Rivers Casino and Cube Nightclub, alleging negligence.

On Aug. 22, 2013, the complaint states, O'Neill was on one of the dance floors inside the Rivers Casino and Cube Nightclub premises when she tried to avoid a rowdy, intoxicated patron and slipped and fell due to spilled drinks on the dance floor.

The complaint states the defendant was negligent in its failure to maintain safe conditions in their premises, among other negligent acts or omissions.As a result of the accident, O'Neill sustained serious injuries, great physical pain and mental anguish, and incurred medical expenses.

O'Neill seeks a judgment of more than $30,000, plus costs of the suit. She is represented by Kevin M. Collopy of Drake & Collopy in Chicago.
