Carcrash

A man is suing his employer, a contractor, and two Cook County men for alleged injuries following a vehicle collision in which all parties were involved.

Hal Plenge filed a complaint Aug. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court, Law Division against BNSF Railway Co., Renzenberger Inc., Christopher Guzman and Antonio Guzman, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 5, 2013, while Plenge, a BNSF employee, was a passenger in a van driven by a Renzenberger employee contracted out by BNSF, the van was struck from behind by Christopher Guzman's vehicle, owned by Antonio Guzman, near the intersection of LaGrange Road and Cermak Road in Cook County.

The complaint states Guzman was negligent in failing to maintain control of his vehicle, speeding, and texting while driving, among other negligent acts or omissions.

As a result of the accident, Plenge suffered injuries to his neck and back, for which he has incurred medical expenses.

Plenge seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus court costs.

He is represented by Charles W. Armbruster and Michael T. Blotevogel of Armbruster, Dripps, Winterscheidt & Blotevogel LLC in Alton.
