Alden of Waterford sued over alleged negligence in patient care

A woman is suing a certain Aurora nursing care facility over claims of negligence that resulting in injuries.

Esperanza Soto filed a complaint Sept. 24 in Cook County Circuit Court, Law Division against Alden of Waterford LLC, also known as Alden of Waterford Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, while staying at Alden, Soto was a fall risk and needed assistance standing and walking, in addition to being secured into her wheelchair.

On Sept. 29, 2013, the complaint states, Alden employees failed to properly secure Soto in her wheelchair and allowed her to fall and sustain head injuries and a fracture to her left femur.

The complaint states that Alden was negligent in failing to provide adequate and properly supervised care to prevent injury, among other negligent acts or omissions.

Soto seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus attorney fees and court costs. Soto is represented by The Law Office of Andrew S. Kryder LLC in Chicago.
