Daughter sues Aperion Care over alleged wrongful death of father

483

A woman is suing a nursing home over allegations of the wrongful death of her father.

Carrie Rosinski, special administrator of the estate of the late Frank L. Schuch, filed a lawsuit Sept. 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against Dolton Nursing & Rehab LLC, doing business as Aperion Care Dolton, and Landra Cupil-Jones.

Schuch was a resident of Aperion between August 2012 and May. According to the suit, Shuch was a victim of neglect and abuse during his residence. The suit claims the facility failed to ensure proper nutrition and hydration, neglected to prevent and treat pressure sores, did not develop an overall plan of restorative and rehabilitative care, and did not tell his family about changes in his condition. This neglect led to his death on May 20, the suit states.

Rosinksi is seeking damages of more than $50,000 plus litigation costs. Attorney James E. Thompson of The Law Offices of Joseph V. Roddy in Chicago is representing the plaintiff.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L-009616.
