A Cook County law firm is suing several former clients, alleging breach of contract.

Murphy & Hourihane of Chicago filed a lawsuit Sept. 25 in Cook County Circuit Court against Infraegis Inc., Gregory E. Webb of Texas, Charles R. Abbott of North Carolina,  James R. Zilka of Illinois, Klonda Newell of Florida, and Marie Difley of Texas.

According to the complaint, the defendants at various times hired Murphy & Hourihane to provide legal services and agreed to a monthly payment arrangement. The legal matters involved an appeal of a consent order of prohibition, subpoenas from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for testimony, a federal court criminal proceeding, various state court proceedings and other matters, the suit says.

The lawsuit states the defendants have not paid the money they owe the plaintiff.

Murphy & Hourihane seeks $244,802.78 for payment for services rendered. Attorneys Eugene E. Murphy Jr., John N. Hourihane Jr. and Randall S. Bourek are representing their own firm.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L-009783.
