A Cook County man is suing an Arlington Heights nursing home, alleging negligence in the care of his 80-year-old father.

Jack Sorci, independent administrator to collect the estate of Harry Sorci (deceased) filed a lawsuit Oct. 26 in Cook County Circuit Court against Manorcare Health Services doing business as Manorcare at Arlington Heights, HCR Healthcare, and registered nurse Cuong Pham.

According to the complaint, Harry Sorci was a resident of Manorcare at Arlington Heights between April 2013-October 2014, where he received supervision and assistance with daily living activities. While a resident, the suit says, Sorci suffered several falls and a head injury, as well as the development of several areas of skin breakdown and pressure sores.

The plaintiff charges these injuries were a result of the defendants’ neglect.

Harry Sorci died Oct. 3, 2014.

Sorci seeks damages of more than $50,000. He is represented by attorneys Jordan S. Powell of Levin & Perconti and by Gerald R. Bekkerman of the Bekkerman Law Offices, both in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L-010856.
