Daughter accuses Little Company of Mary Hospital of neglect in mother’s death

A Cook County woman is suing an Evergreen Park health care provider, alleging neglect in her mother's death.

Jan Camps, independent administrator for the estate of Louise Camps, filed a lawsuit Aug. 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against Little Company of Mary Hospital and Healthcare Centers, Little Company of Mary Hospital Health Systems of Evergreen Park, Little Company of Mary Sisters Healthcare System Inc. and Dr. Talal Sunbulli.

According to the complaint,on Sept. 6, 2013, Louise Camps was at the Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park when she suffered serious injuries from a fall after being left unattended on a cot with the side rails down. The defendants’ neglect, the suit says, led Camps to fall face forward, cutting her head and fracturing her cheekbone. She died of complications from her injuries Aug. 27, 2014, the suit states.

Camps seeks damages of more than $50,000. She is represented by attorney Yao O. Dinizulu of Dinizulu Law Group in Chicago.
