A Cook County man is suing his mother’s nursing home, alleging negligence led to her death.
Jerry J. Mhoon, independent administrator of the estate of Ethel Mae Mhoon, filed a lawsuit Aug. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court against Evergreen Living & Rehab Center doing business as The Villa at Evergreen Park.
According to the complaint, Ethel Mhoon, 54, developed pressure sores and suffered extreme weight loss during her residency at The Villa from May 24-Sept. 2, 2013. The suit says Mhoon's resulting mental and physical deterioration due to the defendants' neglect contributed to her death Sept. 2, 2013.
Jerry Mhoon seeks damages of more than $50,000, including attorney fees. He is represented by attorney Jason B. Rosenthal of the Law Offices of Jason B. Rosenthal in Chicago.
