A Cook County man is suing an Elk Grove Village nursing home, alleging negligence led to his mother’s death.

Dragan Savic, special administrator of the estate of Zorica Savic, filed a lawsuit Nov. 18 in Cook County Circuit Court against ManorCare of Elk Grove Village.

According to the complaint, Zorica Savic became a resident of ManorCare at Elk Grove beginning Jan. 28, 2014. While a resident, Savic developed numerous pressure ulcers resulting from ManorCare’s negligence, the suit says, wounds that the nursing home failed to treat in a timely manner.

The plaintiff alleges the injuries sustained while under the defendant’s care caused or contributed to his mother's subsequent death.

Dragan Savic seeks damages of more than $50,000. He is represented by attorney Matthew L. Baker of Sandman, Levy and Petrich in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L011772.
