A Cook County man and woman are suing a fellow bar patron, alleging he assaulted them at a Chicago bar that kept inadequate security.

Joseph G. Ozimek and Lisa M. LaChance filed a lawsuit Aug. 24 in Cook County Circuit Court against The Old Time Tap Inc. and Nick Lewandowski.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 12, 2014, Lewandowski violently attacked both Ozimek and LaChance without provocation. The attack occurred at The Old Time Tap, 13501 S. Brainard Ave., a business the plaintiffs allege was negligent by having inadequate security on hand to prevent the altercation.

The plaintiffs seek damages of more than $50,000. They are represented by attorney David J. Gallagher of The Vrdolyak Law Group in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L008643.
