Daughters battle in court over mother’s estate

Carcrash2

CHICAGO – A Cook County woman is suing her sister in a dispute surrounding their mother’s estate.

Delesia Woodfork filed a lawsuit on Nov. 24 in Cook County Circuit Court against Gloria Woodfork, seeking an order appointing her special administrator of the estate of their mother, Hisumi Woodfork.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 1, 2013 Delesia and Hisumi were passengers in a vehicle driven by Gloria that was involved in a collision. Delesia and Hisumi both sustained injuries from the wreck, the suit says, which allegedly resulted from Gloria’s negligence.

Delesia Woodfork is petitioning the court to make her special administrator of her mother’s estate, and thus the beneficiary of any damages awarded for the collison. She is represented by attorney A. Leo Wiggins Jr. of Chicago.
