CHICAGO — A customer is suing the owners of a Chicago restaurant, alleging negligence caused a light fixture to fall on her.
Natallia Panysh filed a lawsuit April 5, in the Cook County Circuit Court against North Pond Restaurant, North Pond Cafe, North Pond Group LLC and North Pond LLC, alleging they failed to exercise due care to all persons and/or customers and maintain a reasonably safe environment.
According to the complaint, on Aug. 29, 2014, Panysh was injured by a light fixture that fell onto her head, wrist and other parts of her body at North Pond Restaurant, 2610 N. Cannon Drive. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to inspect and maintain its premises to ensure a safe condition and prevent the light fixture from becoming dangerous to its customers.
The suit says the plaintiff sustained permanent injuries, great pain and anguish, plus medical expenses.
Panysh seeks more than $50,000, plus the costs of suit. She is represented by attorney Stephen L. Hoffma of Law Office of Stephen L. Hoffman LLC in Chicago.
