CHICAGO — A patient is suing a doctor and a Chicago hospital, alleging a botched ankle surgery.
Asante Pearce filed a lawsuit May 20 in Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Daniel Ivankovich and the Jackson Park Hospital Foundation, alleging negligence in failing to provide proper medical care.
According to the complaint, on Nov. 17, 2013, Pearce suffered permanent damage to his right ankle following surgery performed by Ivankovich at Jackson Park Hospital. The plaintiff alleges the doctor failed to perform proper surgery on his ankle.
The suit says Pearce learned Dec. 18, 2014, that he required fusion ankle surgery.
Pearce seeks judgment against each defendant of more than $50,000. He is represented by attorney Jeffrey J. Tallis of Faklis, Tallis & Mead PC in Chicago.
