Estate blames medical providers for patient's death

Medical malpractice 08

CHICAGO — A family is suing medical providers, alleging their negligence led to a relative's death.

Christine L. Karlins, administrator for the estate of Doris Arlene White, filed a lawsuit May 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against Imperial and Symphony of Lincoln Park LLC, Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital, Kindred Hospital, Dr. Maliha Jaffery, alleging negligence in failing to provide proper medical care for the deceased.

According to the complaint, on May 23, 2014, White sustained severe physical injuries which ultimately resulted in her death soon after because the defendants failed to transfer her to the proper facility in time.

Karlins seeks judgment in an amount in excess of the jurisdictional limit, plus court costs. She is represented by attorney Naderh H. Elrabadi of Chicago.
