Park Ridge customer alleges Denny's negligence caused injuries

Slip01

CHICAGO — A Park Ridge customer is suing a Denny's restaurant, alleging negligence led to her suffering injuries.

Aphrodite Vergos of Park Ridge filed a lawsuit May 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against The Deck Restaurant Group Inc., doing business as Denny's Restaurant, alleging negligence in failing to place adequate lighting in the dining area.

According to the complaint, on June 10, 2014, Vergos suffered injuries as a result of falling because of a raised step at the Denny's in Hanover Park. The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to place adequate warnings in the area with low visibility, which also has a raised step that could cause an accident to patrons.

The suit says the plaintiff experienced great pain and suffering, became disabled and lost enjoyment of life.

Vergos seeks judgment of more than $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by attorney Victor F. Ciardelli of Ciardelli, Cummings & Campagna in Chicago.
