Care center, employee alleged to have caused resident injuries

Medical malpractice 02

CHICAGO – A resident of a health care facility alleges her leg was cut after an employee negligently transferred her from her wheelchair.

Pamela S. Craine, as attorney in fact for Elaine Craine, and Elaine Craine, individually filed a complaint on May 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against Warren Barr North Shore LLC, Legacy Healthcare Financial Services LLC and Richard A. Oyinloye, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that, in November 2015, Elaine Craine sustained a very deep laceration on her right leg that needed stitching and hospitalization. The plaintiffs hold Warren Barr North Shore LLC, Legacy Healthcare Financial Services LLC, and Richard A. Oyinloye responsible because defendant Oyinloye allegedly failed to exercise caution while moving Elaine Craine from her wheelchair and allegedly failed to report her injury to her physician.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendants in an amount of more than $50,000 as compensatory damages and for punitive damages. They are represented by John J. Perconti and Cari F. Silverman of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
