CHICAGO – A Chicago woman currently attending college in Wisconsin alleges an unknown individual stole her identity and committed fraudulent acts.

Carol Harewood filed a complaint on July 6 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Jane Doe alleging that the unknown individual used plaintiff's identity to open and transfer funds from plaintiff's legitimate accounts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered monetary damages from losing funds from her account as well as her identity being used to commit fraudulent acts in May. The plaintiff holds Jane Doe responsible because the defendant allegedly used plaintiff's identity to open new accounts in person at TCF National Bank and link them to plaintiff's existing accounts to obtain funds, including a loan and rental car that wasn't returned.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $30,001 plus punitive damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Glenn E. Helizer of Heilizer Law Offices in Chicago.
