Palos Community Hospital, others accused of wrongful death

Medical malpractice 07

CHICAGO – An estate administrator has filed a suit against several health care providers and medical centers alleging wrongful death.

William O'Hare, individually and as special administrator of the estate of Theresa M. O'Hare, filed a complaint on July 12 in Cook County Circuit Court against Palos Community Hospital; Palos Community Hospital Cardiovascular Services; Dr. Patrick McCormick; Dr. Shadi Vatta; Alpha Med Physicians Group; Dr. Daniel Pacella; Dr. Michael Bautista; Kathleen Olsen, DRNA; and Kim Lindgren, R.N. alleging wrongful death.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in Novemer 2015, Theresa M. O'Hare went to Palos Community Hospital for a placement of a mediport. The suit states that prior to the surgery, a cardio echo was done the month before and the results indicated that stroke volume and cardiac output were low. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly evaluate Theresa M. O'Hare's cardiac echo before moving forward with the operation, which purportedly caused her death on Nov. 2, 2015.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount of more than $50,000, plus court costs. He is represented by Elizabeth A. Kaveny and Michael L Gallagher of Burke Wise Morrissey & Kaveny in Chicago.
