Hospital accused of allowing pressure ulcer to develop

Medical malpractice 08

CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate is suing Advocate Health and Hospitals Corporation, d/b/a Advocate Christ Medical Center, alleging negligence in hospital care.

Christina Clark, as independent administrator of the estate of Caroline Ann Clark, filed a complaint on July 14 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Advocate Health and Hospitals Corporation, d/b/a Advocate Christ Medical Center alleging that the hospital failed to provide proper medical care to Caroline Ann Clark.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2014, Caroline Ann Clark developed a stage IV sacral decubitus ulcer. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly neglecting its duty while taking care of Caroline Ann Clark, which resulted in her developing a sacral decubitus ulcer while she was admitted.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Michael Kosner of The Deratany Firm in Chicago.
