Morton Grove care facility accused of negligence, wrongful death

Medical malpractice 06

CHICAGO – An estate administrator alleges his mother received inadequate care while residing at a Morton Grove long-term care facility, which contributed to her death.

Shale Lapping, independent administrator of the estate of Edythe Lapping, filed a complaint on July 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against HCRI Illinois Properties LLC, Silverado Senior Living-Morton Grove LLC and Guardian Home Health Care LLC alleging negligence, wrongful death and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2014, Edythe Lapping experienced pain from developing decubitus ulcers while under the care of the defendants, which caused her overall health to deteriorate. The plaintiff holds HCRI Illinois Properties LLC, Silverado Senior Living-Morton Grove LLC and Guardian Home Health Care LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide adequate personal care and proper skin care to Edythe Lapping while she resided at their facility.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limitation of this court and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Peter A. Nicholson of Goldberg & Goldberg in Chicago.
