CHICAGO — A representative is suing Warren Barr Gold Coast, Warren Barr Living & Rehab Center LLC, Astoria Place Living & Rehab Center, Astoria Place Living and Rehabilitation Center LLC and Astoria Place Skilled Nursing Facility LLC, alleging negligence in nursing home care.

Toni Meekey-Stith, as power of attorney for property of Ra Chaka, filed a complaint on July 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper care to nursing home resident Chaka.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that during a period from 2014 through 2016, Chaka experienced pain from developing pressure ulcers. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision to Chaka in order to avoid the development of pressure ulcer and other medical conditions.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Molly L. Condon of Hurley McKenna & Mertz, P.C. in Chicago.
