Estate administrator blames care providers for death

Medical malpractice 09

CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased man's estate is suing Advocate Christ Medical Center, Advocate Health and Hospitals Corporation and Michael Cudworth, M.D., in a wrongful death claim alleging negligence in medical care.

Kyana Flanagan, as independent administrator of the estate of Harry Dennis III, filed a complaint on July 29 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper medical care to Dennis.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in August 2014, Dennis suffered from a post-operative bleed that caused his death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to properly diagnose Dennis' condition and provide necessary medical treatment for it.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000. She is represented by David E. Gilbreth of Costello, McMahon, Burke & Murphy, Ltd. in Chicago.
