Insurer blames construction firm for injuries

CHICAGO — An insurance company is suing PAP Construction Co., alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

CHICAGO — An insurance company is suing PAP Construction Co., alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Pekin Insurance Company a/s/o Edwards Construction Corp. and Marek Sukiennik filed a complaint on Aug. 2 in Cook County Circuit Court against PAP Construction Co. alleging that the construction firm failed to make sure steel beaming was secured.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in August 2014, Sukiennik sustained injuries when steel beaming fell on him. The plaintiff holds PAP Construction Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly install the steel beaming.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in the amount of $170,532.31 plus court costs. It is represented by Brad Krapfl of Keis George LLP in Chicago.
