Patient claims vision loss after eye surgery

Medical malpractice 05

CHICAGO — A patient is suing Aaron Weinberg, M.D.; Retina Associates, Ltd.; and Elmhurst Outpatient Surgery Center, L.L.C.; alleging negligence in eye care.

Abder Ahmad filed a complaint on Aug. 12 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide him with proper care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2014, he experienced pain and vision loss in his right eye. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly improperly placed an intraocular lens onto his right eye and failed to follow up on his condition after the surgery.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000 plus court costs. He is represented by Daniel R. Mclean of Karlin, Fleisher & Falkenberg, L.L.C. in Chicago.
