Medical malpractice 07

CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased man's estate is suing a doctor, identified in the complaint as Imran Ali, and Advocate Health and Hospitals Corporation d/b/a Advocate Trinity Hospital; and Advocate Health Care, in a wrongful death claim alleging negligence in medical care.

Toya Banks, as independent administrator of the estate of her husband, Robert Banks, filed a complaint on Aug. 19 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging they failed to provide proper medical care to Robert Banks.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges on Oct. 1, Robert Banks was treated for chest pain and discharged from care, then died of a heart attack the next day. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to perform necessary procedures on Robert Banks, including treating his acute coronary syndrome in a timely manner.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court. She is represented by James M. Sanford, John K. Kennedy and Daniel Watkins II of James D. Montgomery & Associates Ltd. in Chicago.
