CHICAGO — A deceased woman's family is suing nursing home Alden Town Manor Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Inc., and other affiliated corporate entities, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent the woman's injuries.

Jeanette Perez, as independent administrator for the estate of Carmella Perez, filed a complaint on Sept. 22 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging that they failed to provide proper care to Carmella Perez.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Carmella Perez experienced pain from having developed pressure ulcers. The plaintiff said the Alden Town Manor defendants allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision to Carmella Perez at all times to make sure that she did not develop any pressure ulcers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Bella Feinstein of The Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates, P.C. in Chicago.
