CHICAGO — A woman is suing Amita Health St. Alexius Medical Center, Midwest Emergency Associates LLC, Team Health LLC, Bryan M. Bluhm, M.D., and a nurse, alleging they did not do enough to stop her from jumping from a parking garage deck when she came to an emergency room seeking help for alcoholism and suicidal thoughts.

The plaintiff filed a complaint on Sept. 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide her with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she did not receive proper supervision and care. She holds the defendants responsible for their alleged negligence on a night on which she said she sought hospital admission, was left unsupervised, jumped from a parking garage and was readmitted with alcohol in her purse.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Kent D. Sinson of Sinson Law Group in Chicago.
