CHICAGO — A decased woman's family has filed a wrongful death claim against a Chicago area hospital and several doctors alleging negligence in medical care after the doctors allegedly improperly treated conditions caused by a stroke.
Leticia Nunez, as independent administrator of the estate of Karina Nunez, filed a complaint on Sept. 28 in Cook County Circuit Court against Presence Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center, medical practices Community First Healthcare of Illinois Inc. and Midwest Emergency Centralia Campus Associates Inc., and medical professionals identified as Midori Takeyasu Par, M.D., Richard Warshell, M.D., John A. Martini, M.D., and Melissa A. Yarbrough, NP, alleging that they failed to provide proper medical care to Karina Nunez.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Karina Nunez suffered a deterioration in her health in connection with right cerebellar lesion and stroke, which contributed to her death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to properly diagnose Karina Nunez's condition and provide the necessary treatment.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants greater than $50,000. She is represented by Paul G. O'Toole of Salvato & O'Toole in Chicago.
