CHICAGO — A deceased woman's family is suing Peterson Park Associates LLC, Peterson Park Health Care Center PPA Ltd. and Legacy Healthcare Network LLC in a wrongful death claim, alleging they failed to properly recognize and treat an infection.

Sean Vega, special administrator of the estate of Doris Vega, filed a complaint on Oct. 3 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper care to Doris Vega.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Doris Vega suffered from an infection that contributed to her death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly did not follow a physician's orders to use a moisture barrier treatment on Doris Vega's skin, failed to recognize the signs of infection and failed to provide the necessary treatment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. He is represented by Brian J. Holmes of Hurley McKenna & Mertz, P.C. in Chicago.
