Amita Health Adventist Medical Center, Hinsdale accused of negligence in boy's care

CHICAGO — A father is suing Adventist Midwest Health, d/b/a Amita Health Adventist Medical Center, Hinsdale f/k/a Hinsdale Hospital, Emily Rose F. Chellappa, R.N., and Donna Lyn Houlis, R.N., alleging negligence in medical care.

Enrique Pacheco, as father and next friend of Anthony Pacheco, filed a complaint on Oct. 4 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper care to Anthony Pacheco.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2008 and 2009, Anthony Pacheco was hospitalized, and suffered injuries including a burn on his left arm from improper infusion. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to perform the necessary steps to make sure that Anthony Pacheco wouldn't get injured and or to provide the necessary treatment to address the burn on his left arm.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000. He is represented by Steven M. Levin, Margaret P. Battersby Black and Caroleann S. Gallagher of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
