CHICAGO — A former Midlothian Police officer is suing the village and its police pension fund, alleging breach of contract and breach of duty.

Sandra Flinchum filed a complaint on Sept. 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against the Village of Midlothian Police Pension Fund, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Midlothian Police Pension Fund and the Village of Midlothian, alleging that they improperly denied her a disability pension.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was injured several times while performing her duty and sought disability claims but was denied. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly denied her the disability pension despite her claim that she sustained injuries while performing her duties.

The plaintiff seeks an order to review the complete transcript of evidence, to reverse the decision of the pension board, and to order the pension board to pay disability benefits to her. She is represented by Thomas W. Duda of The Law Offices of Thomas W. Duda in Palatine.
