Law money 02

CHICAGO — A woman has filed suit against two property owners, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries, liability, and negligence, after she was allegedly assaulted at a party hosted by the owners at their home in Evanston.

Melissa Jimenez filed a complaint on Oct. 5, in the Cook County Circuit Court against defendants Lina and Rafael Mendoza  alleging that they failed to offer assistance to the plaintiff while she was being assaulted by John Doe.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, in October 2014, she sustained physical injuries from being assaulted by an unknown individual. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly allowed their guest to consume large amount of alcoholic beverages, which caused John Doe to become intoxicated and assault the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by attorney Michael C. Goode, of Chicago.
