CHICAGO — A woman is suing over allegations that she suffered harm from inhaling fumes from a gasoline leak at a gas station near her apartment building.
Jenny Perez, of Harwood Heights, filed a complaint on Oct. 7 in Cook County Circuit Court against Citgo Petroleum Corp., Luke Oil Co., Inc., Nagle Station, LLC, Georgia Kozonis, Demetrios Kozonis, Mega Group, Inc., Mega Properties, Inc., St. George Oil Group, Inc., Jibit Joy, Stephen Chacko, Maev, LLC, Land Trust No. 11667, E&D Citgo, Inc., Evripidis Gogos, Theodora Gogos, George Kanellos, Rose I. Ramirez, Kimberly Ramirez and Kimberly R. Perez, petroleum companies, distributors and property owners, alleging that she suffered damages when a Citgo station leaked gasoline into the area of her apartment.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered physical injuries from inhaling petroleum fumes around her apartment building. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to inspect and make adequate arrangements on the first sign of a leak within the facility.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Mark A. Brown and Olivia A. Sarmas of Lane & Lane LLC in Chicago.
