Paul's Pizza & Hotdogs faces claim of liability for woman's ankle injury

Law money 07

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Paul's Pizza & Hotdogs Inc., alleging the restaurant should pay for ankle injuries she sustained when she stepped in an open drain at the restaurant.

Jennifer Dziura filed a complaint on Oct. 12 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Paul's Pizza & Hotdogs, alleging that the establishment failed to cover a drain with a drain grate.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in February 2015, she sustained physical injuries when she twisted her ankle. The plaintiff holds Paul's Pizza & Hotdogs responsible because the defendant allegedly allowed the hazardous condition to exist and failed to provide adequate warning to its patrons about the hazardous condition.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of the jurisdictional limits of the court plus court costs. She is represented by Daniel T. Stanton of Cooney and Conway in Chicago.
