CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased man's estate is suing Kalco Laundry Inc., individually and doing business as Ashland Laundromat, and laundry owners Theresa Ferro and Jorge Villareal, alleging negligence, liability and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries in connection with a fatal fall from a ladder.

Carmella Celio, as special administrator of the estate of Roberto Celio, filed a complaint on Oct. 19 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to properly inspect ladder being used by Roberto Celio for any defects.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 18, 2015, Roberto Celio was killed by falling from a ladder after being retained by the defendants to install a compressor on the laundry roof. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide a safe means to access the rooftop of their property.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of the court plus interest and court costs. She is represented by Nolan Law Group in Chicago.
