CHICAGO — Two representatives of a deceased woman's estate have filed a wrongful death claim against The Northwestern Medical Group, alleging negligence in medical care.

Holly Ann Cruz and Heather Marie Scanlon, as co-executors of the estate of Patricia Catherine Bracken, filed a complaint on Oct. 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against The Northwestern Medical Group, alleging the medical practice had failed to provide proper medical care to Bracken.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege Bracken was not notified for more than a year that a scan revealed possible lung cancer. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to inform Bracken of the results of a scan or to provide necessary treatment.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. They are represented by Joseph A. Power Jr. and Joseph W. Balesteri of Power Rogers & Smith, LLP in Chicago.
