CHICAGO — A woman is suing Flip 3132 Inc.; Flipmeastack Inc.; International House of Pancakes LLC; IHOP Leasing LLC; IHOP Restaurants LLC; and IHOP Franchisor LLC, alleging negligence, liability and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Mary Goodman filed a complaint on Oct. 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to properly secure a painting on the wall at one of  their restaurants.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in November 2014, she sustained physical injuries when a painting suddenly fell from a wall and hit her on the head. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to inspect the painting to make sure it was properly secured.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Shane P. Keane of Rosenfeld Hafron Shapiro & Farmer in Chicago.
