CHICAGO – The daughter of a deceased man alleges a Chicago nursing care facility failed to provide adequate medical and personal care to her late father.
Monique Torres, special administrator of the estate of Wilfred Corzo, filed a complaint on Oct. 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against St. Paul's House & Health Care Center alleging that the nursing facility failed to provide proper care to Corzo.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Corzo experienced pain from having developed pressure ulcers while under the defendant's care, which contributed to the deterioration of his health and death in July 2015. The plaintiff holds St. Paul's responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision to Corzo in order to reposition him to relieve pressure points to prevent the sores.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $50,000. She is represented by Jonathan B. Fleisher of Karlin, Fleisher & Falkenberg LLC in Chicago.
