CHICAGO — A disabled man's family is suing Elmwood Care Inc., alleging negligence in nursing home care.

Stacy Zeigler, as plenary guardian of the estate and person of John Zeigler, filed a complaint on Dec. 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against Elmwood Care, alleging that the nursing facility failed to provide adequate supervision and care to John Zeigler.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Zeigler suffered from the development of decubitus ulcers, after the defendant allegedly failed to provide proper care to minimize the risk of developing the ulcers and allegedly failed to provide proper nutrition and hydration levels.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by Matthew K. Henry of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates, P.C. in Chicago.
