CHICAGO — A woman is suing Fitness International, LLC, which does business as LA Fitness, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries at the company's Glenview location.
The woman, whose identity is being withheld because she was a victim of an alleged assault, filed a complaint on Jan. 26 in Cook County Circuit Court against Fitness International, alleging the company allowed a man to physically assault her while inside their facility.
According to the complaint, the woman alleges that on Sept. 19, she sustained injuries when she was physically assaulted inside the women's bathroom. She holds Fitness International because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate security personnel.
The woman is asking the court to require the company to respond to all discovery requests and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Robert F. Krug Jr., Raymond M. Rudnick and Michael Gnesin of Kelleher & Buckley, LLC in North Barrington.
