Old Country Buffet allegedly failed to take measures to prevent fall on slippery floor

CHICAGO — A restaurant patron is suing Old Country Buffet for allegedly failing to prevent her from falling on a slippery floor.

Wendy Tolbert filed a lawsuit on March 28 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the property owner failed to ensure the floor of the restaurant was free of slippery substances.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she experienced pain after she slipped, fell and sustained undisclosed serious physical injuries on March 29, 2015. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to warn her of the slippery floor.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by William J. Turner of Friend, Levinson & Turner Ltd. in Chicago.
